We did a 7 day customised tour of Gangtok and North Sikkim. After doing thorough research, though we could have arrange all by ourself we choose to reach out to Ms Indra from WE CARE HOLIDAYS and after seeing the reviews here and also because I value the local knowledge of service providers when travelling. We are glad that we did so. And Ms Indra has arranged everything and her local knowledge is invaluable for things like obtaining permits (due to the security situation near the Tibet border) and changing a hotel at short notice. More important however, is the knowledge of the drivers who accompanied us. Both our drivers were more like guides and friends. They pointed out attractions that were not on the itinerary and which we would otherwise have not known about. We were able to experience the local food with (Ms Indra) and people etc which perhaps would not have been possible with a mass tourism company. Our hotels were good (barring one which was average - Our vehicle was comfortable (very important on mountain tracks) and we were able to cover all attractions in our itinerary at a comfortable pace. Drives can be long but the views worth it. Places like Gurudomgar lake and the Zero point are incredibly beautiful. I suggest everyone to come Sikkim to relax and enjoy and don't let little glitches come in the way. Sikkim fascinated me more than any other place and I'd love to travel with Ms Indra and her team again.
